Maria Fleischmann is the President and Chief Creative Officer at Innovative Gourmet, a full-service catering and events company specializing in “unique-with-a-twist” menu development, food styling and way-tasty food. Always on top of industry trends, Innovative Gourmet has set the bar for the exploding culinary scene in Baltimore.
After 32 years of running the show, Maria has emerged from behind the magic curtain as the sole owner- having bought out her former partner. Reveling in her position as head of a woman owned and operated biz, Maria has taken the helm of the IG team (many of whom have been with the company since it’s inception), leading her squad’s 153-combined years of expert catering fabulosity!
Maria comes into the culinary arts quite naturally. She was born in Sparta, Greece and became a lil food-o-phile, while cooking in her grandmother’s kitchen, using sustainable fresh fruits and vegetables from the garden. Coming from a boisterous, big, fat Greek family – the best times were in the kitchen and at the table with her family and friends. Today, Maria is a certified food-freak aka connoisseur and loves all things foodcentric —avidly following restaurant and food trends. And-because her posts are so interesting paired with witty commentary and mouth-watering photos, she has a growing following on Instagram and Facebook as she consistently posts about the latest foodie news and reviews.  
Maria is a firm believer in giving back to the community and supports many charitable, organizations including March of Dimes, Meals on Wheels, MS Society, NACE and Hadassah, to name a few. She is the mother of three two-legged and two four-legged children and lives in Baltimore County’s Glyndon neighborhood.

A recipe from MARIA FLEISCHMANN…

 

Roasted Salmon Topped with Cured Olive Fresh Herb Crust


Ingredients
3 pounds fresh salmon fillet
4 ounces chopped black olives
2 ounces olive oil
Juice from one lemon
2 tsp. garlic coarsely chopped
¼ cup parsley coarsely chopped
¼ cup oregano coarsely chopped
½ cup bread crumbs

Preparation
Combine all ingredients together except for the salmon

Spread mixture over the salmon

Cook at 400 degrees for 12 – 15 minutes
