Meet Our Volunteer Advisory Council
The Meals on Wheels of Central Maryland Volunteer Advisory Council is a board-style group of volunteers who represent and advocate for clients, volunteers and the organization. The Council works to strengthen the organization through a strong recruitment strategy, evaluation of volunteer & client experiences and comprehensive training. The Council strives to create:
- An enjoyable and rewarding volunteer experience.
- A strong volunteer support system including ongoing training and access to resources.
- A strong recruitment and volunteer ambassador program for continuous directed recruitment in high need areas.
- An environment of respect and trust.

- Post about volunteering on Nextdoor, neighborhood Facebook groups, etc.
- Connect Meals on Wheels with your place of worship, place of work, or social clubs
- Share volunteer needs with community members at events (PTSA meetings, farmers markets, game nights, community events)

You can sign up online for extra delivery shifts at your current or a nearby distribution site.
- Step 1: Visit https://mowcm.mowscheduler.com/helpwanted
- Step 2: Choose the site and see what routes and days of the week are available.
- Step 3: Click on the circle next to “driver” for the day and route you want to deliver.
- Step 4: Select “Sign up without signing in” or sign into your account.
