The holiday season at Meals on Wheels of Central Maryland (MOWCM) is abuzz with activity and excitement as we work to make the season special in this most challenging of years. From Thanksgiving turkey meals and apple pie to Santa-shaped cookies, the kitchen has been whipping up some special treats to delight clients in their weekly meal boxes. Staff and volunteers show up every day to cook, prepare, and pack meals, spreading the holiday spirit along the way.

Over the past few weeks, volunteers, clubs, and workplaces have been creating heart-felt service projects that truly make a client’s day. Creative and unique gifts have included hundreds of cards from companies, handmade scarves and flower arrangements from knitting/garden clubs, and “mugs of love” from families that are filled with treats and toiletries. Giving back in a COVID-safe way not only impacts clients but volunteers themselves. Spreading joy and knowing you made an impact can really go a long way, especially in a year filled with as much unknown as 2020.

We are immensely proud and grateful of our staff and volunteers. You are making all the difference for our homebound neighbors in need.

We wish you all a wonderful holiday!
