Meals on Wheels of Central Maryland

Meals on Wheels Drivers are essential to performing our meal delivery service. Earning tax-deductible miles and performing a valuable community service, use your vehicle to perform the most essential function of our agency: Deliver meals to elderly and disabled homebound people in your community. Starting around 11:00 a.m. on weekdays, delivery only takes about 1 hour. (Click on title heading to learn more)

Deliver meals in teams of two, whether it's your spouse, grandchild, or neighbor. Deliver once a week at a distribution site within your community. Deliveries occur weekdays Monday - Friday (including holidays) 11:00 a.m. - 1:00pm. Most deliveries take about an hour to complete. (Click on title heading to learn more)

Phone Pal Volunteers are assigned one or more clients to stay in touch with over the phone. Please click the title heading to learn more.

Grocery shopping for a homebound individual is a convenient way to volunteer. Volunteers are assigned one or more clients to shop within one to fifteen miles from their home. Please click the title heading to learn more.

Pack and assemble meals for delivery. Locations in Baltimore City, Anne Arundel, Carroll and Harford Counties

Pet lovers welcome. Fun, rewarding opportunity for individuals, families, businesses and groups that can be done on weekdays or weekends. Help deliver 5 lb. pet food bags to our clients with pets and create smiles.

Enjoy lots of personal contact with out clients while gaining valuable experience in a social work setting. (College credit and/or internships may be available.) Assist with client intakes, surveys, outreach, documentation, locating resources and solving problems. TUESDAYS ONLY-THE OFFICE WILL REMAIN OPEN UNTIL 7:30PM.

Assist Client and/or Volunteer Services - Enjoy lots of personal contact with our Clients and/or Volunteers by telephone, mail or email. Perform-data input, filing, mailing, email, copying, scanning, scheduling, organizing and phone work.Also perform other Clerical or Processing Duties as needed when relative to this position. ON TUESDAYS ONLY - THE OFFICE WILL REMAIN OPEN UNTIL 7:30PM. All other days-Hours of Operation: Monday-Wednesday-Thursday and Friday 8:30am to 4:30pm.

Teaching by Example: Youth-Friendly Volunteer Opportunities. Families are encouraged to volunteer together by delivering meals to people who are homebound. Summertime and holidays during the school year are the ideal time to volunteer and accumulate service learning hours for graduation. Moms are encouraged stay on and volunteer when available.

Are you a people person who is interested in building your network? Or are you a student or a parent who is getting back into the work force? We are looking for a dedicated team of 3-5 volunteers to assist with outreach efforts as a Meals on Wheels Community Ambassador.

Moms, dads, or other family members who are home schooling can form a Meal Delivery Team. This opportunity offers homeschools a chance to engage with the community while earning service learning hours toward highschool graduation. Please click the title heading for more information.

Good Corporate Citizenship Through Volunteering - The Lunch Bunch is made up of groups of people who work and frequently have lunch together. Volunteering as a group fosters team-building and heightens morale among employees. Many employers have approved flexible "lunch bunch leaves" so that their employees can deliver meals to homebound people in their surrounding communities. Starting around 11:00 am on weekdays, delivery only takes about an hour.

Individuals, Families and Groups can both give and benefit by spending time with older adults. Lessons learned when generations work together are extremely important for young and old alike.

Move our meals by bike and connect with a homebound senior in your community! Meals on Wheels of Central Maryland relies on the generosity of its volunteers to help fulfill its mission of delivering two meals each day to homebound seniors on weekdays between 11am and 1:00pm. We are looking for additional volunteers to help move our stuff by bike to help promote the use of bicycles for our Meals on Wheels deliveries.
