Meals on Wheels of Central Maryland

A dependable person is needed to deliver bulk and packaged food from Central Kitchen to distribution sites, day care facilities, congregate eating sites, and home delivered meals to clients while driving Meals on Wheels of Central Maryland vehicles. This position is on an ON-CALL BASIS ONLY.

Meals on Wheels needs reliable individuals to link the Central Office of Meals on Wheels of Central Maryland with the clients and volunteers in our distribution site in Montgomery County.

Conducts in-home assessments of Baltimore city and Baltimore county clients, assessing homebound individuals with respect to their level of functioning, health and mental status, activities of daily living, family and social network, support systems, etc.; Process service request from Baltimore City Commission of Aging. Provides assistance to our clients.

Assists the Executive Director, Operations Director, Finance Director, and the Board of Directors in administrative and clerical functions.

Functions as a member of the Foodservices management team and assists the Central Kitchen Manager in the daily management of the central kitchen. Oversees the production of both hot and cold meals. Maintains storage of all food supplies. Oversees the receiving and issuing of food and supplies. Maintains inventory and purchasing records and databases. Maintains high levels of kitchen sanitation and food safety.

A dependable person is needed to recook cook/chill items, cook frozen food items, and portion hot bulk food for shipment and pre-packaging.

Under the direction of the Bulk Food supervisor, the incumbent will prepare food while ensuring safe and sanitary food-handling practices.
